Nagoya Station is where the bullet train stops, and it has a good number of hotels around the station. The main entertainment area is on the East side. Nagoya's downtown shopping and nightlife area, is Sakae, and is two stations away - only a five minute ride on the Higashiyama Subway line (Yellow).

The Fushimi Station area is an office area between Nagoya Station and Sakae station, and has quite a number of hotels. It's only a 10 minute walk from Fushimi station to the downtown shopping ahd entertainment area of Sakae, so taking the subway really isn't necessary.
